Miriam Estate services
Closing up a household or planning a move can be a time-consuming and frustrating experience. With over 30 years of experience, our team of knowledgeable volunteers will help to ease the transition.

Under the guidance of our professional Estate Services Coordinator, we are efficient in handling every aspect of a household sale from start to finish, as well as household empty-outs and downsizing services. Our Empty-Out Service is ideal for smaller homes, homes where community regulations prohibit sales, or if the time frame or long distance necessitates a quicker solution. Call 314.646.7737 for more information.

miriam Estate Sales
Your estate sale will be handled professionally and expertly by our team of volunteers and staff.

How It Works

Initially, the Estate Services Coordinator meets with you to determine how we can best meet your needs and provide a mutually agreeable contract.

While the home is vacant, our volunteers will organize and price items approximately two weeks prior to the sale weekend, depending on the volume and condition of items to be sold. Professional appraisers are on hand for oral appraisals as well. Items valued above $100 are inventoried and the sale amount recorded. We will also arrange newspaper and web advertising.

After the sale, remaining items appropriate for resale, will be delivered to the Miriam Switching Post, which will issue a tax deductible contribution receipt. We will also coordinate final distribution of items to charitable organizations (every effort is made to obtain donation receipts for these items) and arrange for hauling at homeowners expense. The home will be left broom clean and empty.

The fee for Miriam Estate Sale services is $2,000 or 28% of the gross sales, whichever is greater. Call 314.646.7737 for more information.

Miriam Empty-Outs
How It Works

As with estate sales, the Estate Services Coordinator will meet with you to determine a mutually agreeable schedule, terms and contract.

Usually scheduled for one day only and always while the home is vacant, our volunteers come in, sort and pack items and arrange for distribution of all items that are left in the home.

Items appropriate for resale at the Miriam Switching Post will be inventoried and recorded so that you will receive a tax deductible contribution for those items. When possible, remaining items will be distributed to charitable organizations and/or disposed of at the homeowner’s expense. The home will be left broom clean and empty.

The fee for Empty-Out services is based on volume and extent of work involved and is agreed to by contract in advance. Call 314.646.7737 for more information.
